Is coaching useful?
Have you found yourself to be -
These are some of the many questions we ask ourselves from time to time. Our lives change and our needs change too. When we begin to feel restless and we yearn for more, it helps to have a guide through the journey of self discovery and exploration. Coaching helps answer the questions of what's next for me, what more is out there at this time in my life, what is missing from this life that I would love to live, what would give my life more meaning, how could I feel more alive, and where do I go from here?
Is coaching like therapy?
Coaching focuses on the present and future, while therapy generally concentrates on healing wounds from the past. Coaching is a forward-looking, integrated approach to personal development and empowerment. It is not therapy, although coaching techniques often prove to have therapeutic results.
Everyone can benefit from a coach. If you are experiencing clinical depression or dealing with deep childhood wounds, therapy is a better suited option. If goal setting, accountability, and having support in creating the desired life is the situation, coaching is perfect. Everyone can ultimately benefit from a coach.
The focus on coaching is your desired life, relationships, career, health, etc... “Coach” comes from the term “stagecoach” and just as back in the day, people used a stagecoach to get from point A to point B, I help you go from where you are to where you want to be and give you the tools to get there.
Most of my coaching is done remotely on the phone, although I have had a handful of in person clients and a couple of FaceTime/Zoom clients. We will meet the first three weeks of the month for a 45 minute session and coaching homework is done in between sessions. I am available in between sessions for additional support via text and email.
How long should I sign up for coaching?
We will determine that together based on your goals, current challenges, and desired outcome. Typically, anywhere from 3 months to a year, although I have a couple of clients who have been with me for years and have adjusted their goals periodically to continue making forward movement in their life. I will make a recommendation to you once we talk and then it will be ultimately up to you.
100%! If you are all in, coaching will help you in ways that you can not imagine. Your communication will improve, your relationships will strengthen, you will become more clear on what you want and don’t want in your life, and your goals will be reached or re-assessed. The feedback has been overwhelming that life improvement happens through the process.
Where do I start?
The best starting point is to schedule a complimentary sample session, which lasts 20 minutes and is via phone. We will get to know each other a little bit, discuss your goals, and I’ll give you a sample taste of what coaching is. Then, we will determine together if coaching is something you want to explore and if we are a good fit for each other.
